Douglas students have been collecting money for the past several weeks and the grand total is in... $3,332.00 has been raised to help improve the landscaping around the building. Custodian Bob Espel challenged the students to see which class could raise the most money and offered to let the top class shave his beard, and the runner up to help shave his head! While Mrs. Richard's class ended up in first place, Mrs. Pinter's in second, and Mrs. Caldwell's in third, we think every student ended up winning this challenge. All proceeds will go towards new landscaping around the Douglas building, with the first round of plantings to take place with students present this Thursday, May 23rd. The famous beard will be shaved on Wednesday, May 22nd.
