Mrs. Thompson's third grade class recently visited with our pre-schoolers, sharing stories and their smiles!! Thank you third grade, for being such great role models!

Earlier this fall, the Kindergarten classes celebrated Apple Day by reading the story of Johnny Appleseed, discussing the life cycle of an apple, and exploring the inside of it. They learned about the skin, flesh and seeds, and after taste testing red, yellow and green apples, they made a chart of which one was their favorite. Stamp painting and bobbing for apples were a few of their favorite fun activities for the day.

Douglas Elementary staff members kicked off spirit week by dressing up as everyone's favorite custodian, Mr. Bob.
Don't forget, Douglas Families! Picture day is Tuesday, September 16th!

Please join us at Douglas Elementary this Thursday evening, September 18th, for our annual Open House and Book Fair!

Kindergarten students challenge each other to a Tug of War

Bright Beginnings students enjoyed a family picnic at Zearing Park!🛝🍉🤸
The Kindergarten students challenged each other in a Tug of War competition!😁

Douglas Elementary enjoyed an inspiring assembly from Adam Peterson, author, speaker, and educator! His message — “Be the Yellow” — reminded everyone of the power to make a difference through a smile, kind word, or helping hand. Douglas Elementary will be joining schools around the world by participating in Yellow Day on May 9th. #betheyellow

If you are a parent of a child with developmental needs, think about reaching out to BMP to join their upcoming discussion on May 6th.

Preschoolers got to take a tour of the fire station!!!! 👨🚒⛑🚒
The firefighters showed us some of their equipment they could use during fires. We also got to see where they keep the hoses on the fire truck as well as seeing the tall ladder.
The preschoolers got to see the back of the ambulance and the lights on it. Most importantly they made sure to tell us that when they have all their gear on, it is just them and to not be afraid.
We want to thank Lieutenant Eli, Firefighters Brian, Patrick and Frankie for a fun day!🧑🚒🚒❤️
