In sixth grade social studies, students created detailed Neolithic village projects to bring ancient history to life. Using materials like clay, cardboard, and natural items, they built models of early farming communities, complete with homes, crops, and domesticated animals. To deepen their understanding, students also had the option to create journal entries from the perspective of Neolithic villagers, design hand-drawn maps of their settlements, and craft replicas of artifacts such as tools, pottery, and jewelry. These creative choice projects allowed students to explore the daily life, innovations, and culture of early humans while making meaningful connections to the past.
