Lincoln students celebrated Arbor Day on Friday! 🌳
Taylor’s Way Lawn Care came to talk to Lincoln students about trees!!!
We learned how trees help our planet, how to take care of them, and about the different varieties! Each student was given a tree to take home and plant! The trees are ready to go in the ground or can be kept in the fridge for up to a week until you able to plant them! Thank you Taylor’s Way! 💚
Mrs. Cartwright's class packed up all the donations they collected during their pet food and supply drive!!!🐕🐾🐈⬛
This project was connected to their reading module about "Making a Difference". After the students heard about the needs of the animals in our community, they came up with the idea of doing a pet food and supply drive!
The kids made posters and have spread the word around the school about the pet food drive. The students have really enjoyed feeling like they are making a difference in our community!!!!
Third grade students have been learning all about recycling and the difference that each person can make on our world. In connection with this study, students developed incredible “Trash to Treasure” projects where they took recycled trash and turned it into useful and unique items. They also developed a visual presentation to present their projects to their peers.
Finally, in honor of this project and Earth Day, third graders welcomed family and friends to tour their “Trash to Treasure” creations!♻️🌎
What an amazingly green and creative project! We are so thankful to all of the family and friends who were able to attend this amazing learning experience!
The Opera For The Young returned to Lincoln School! Third and fourth grade students enjoyed and participated in the entertaining opera, The Beauty and the Beast. The performance was complete with a student choir from Lincoln as well.
The Opera For The Young was sponsored by The Princeton Public Schools Foundation. What a wonderful and engaging experience!
On March 28th, fourth grade students at Lincoln Elementary, had their annual “Lemonade Wars”. After reading the book The Lemonade War, students either created or bought products to sell at their own Lemonade Stands. Proceeds from all of the stands go toward a field trip at the end of the year. This year they will be going the Gamma Phi Circus at Illinois State University in Bloomington.
Lincoln Elementary is so proud of Kate Mabry from Mrs. Quanstrom’s third grade class for winning the annual Ag in the Class placemat contest. 140 entries were submitted for this fun contest with the theme of, “What Does Agriculture Mean to Me?”
Kate’s placemat was selected for “Best Use of Theme”. Kate was honored at the Princeton Chamber of Commerce's Salute to Agriculture Breakfast for her design and hard work. Way to go, Kate! What an amazing honor!

Lincoln Elementary School celebrated family reading night on Thursday, January 25 with a Lincoln Café Book and tasting event!
The students and adults enjoyed going to different rooms and listening to stories about some delicious foods!! Then everyone enjoyed some appetizers and desserts that went with the books.

Lincoln Elementary School is hosting a Penguin Patch Holiday Shop during the school day on December 13. Students will have the chance to select gifts for their loved ones, wrap them up, and have them just in time for the holidays.
Fight Like Erin Night
In support of Erin and the Matlick family, Logan Jr High will be hosting a "Fight Like Erin" night during their boys basketball games on Tuesday, December 12. The 6th grade game will tip off at 4:30 pm at Logan Jr High, and 7th grade will tip off at 6:00 pm at Princeton High School (8th grade game will follow). There will be a lot of fun at this event, and multiple ways to show support for the Matlick family including a silent auction, 50/50 and much more.
