On behalf of the entire faculty and staff here at PES, we want to wish Jeanette Scott a very heartfelt congratulations on her upcoming retirement and thank her for her many years of service to our students, families and the Princeton Community.

Mrs. Scott's career started in 1992 teaching Title Reading for Kindergarten thru Eighth Grade at the Tiskilwa grade school and coaching volleyball with Carol Cordum and track with Charlie Waca and Jerry Thompson. She says, "It was the best first job ever because I got to see and visit with every teacher that taught me back in the building and district that I went to grades K-12."

After that first year, she married her husband, Steve, and his job took them to Southern Illinois where she got a job at Unity Point, which was a K-8 school located just south of SIU. During her first year there, she was an aide for Jr. High Title Math and the following year was hired to teach 5th grade and coach track. "There were many different nationalities there because of the close proximity to SIU and it was fun to learn about all the cultures around the world from my 5th grade students," she said. "I really enjoyed working there with such good people and such a progressive school where we stayed for the next 5 years."

Her husband's job then brought them to Dixon for a year where she taught 3rd grade and "had a wonderful time meeting some great people."  It was a short time there however, as once again, her husband’s job moved them, this time to Kewanee.

They then found their house in Bradford and Jeanette was hired by PES in 1999 teaching 2nd grade at Lincoln Elementary where she stayed until 2nd grade moved to Jefferson Elementary.

"I am surprised to find myself at this age and already at the end of my career," she said. "But it is very rewarding to think that I have taught and helped over 750 students during my career. I am very grateful to have known so many great parents, their kids, and to have worked with so many wonderful and kind people! Thank you for all the great memories!"

Thank you Jeannette! And Congratulations on a well deserved retirement! You will be missed.
